Based on over 1,000 cases of Industrial Internet driving the upgrade of Chinese manufacturing, the intelligent transformation of traditional industries has extended from the informatization of auxiliary links in production, to data analysis of key production links, said Yu Xiaohui, president of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), at the 2023 Industrial Internet Conference in Suzhou, Jiangsu province on June 15.

According to the conference, Industrial Internet has integrated with 45 major sectors of the Chinese national economy, with an industry scale exceeding 1.2 trillion RMB. 

In this regard, large state-owned and private enterprises drove the interconnected development of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, whereas small and medium sized enterprises have also been quite active when 5G+Industrial Internet merges with all the industries.

Supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and established by CAICT, the Alliance of Industrial Internet, which includes 2,500 members from over 80 subdivided industries both domestically and abroad, is now the world’s largest carrier for ecological cooperation in the Industrial Internet sector.

This year marks the last of implementation of a three-year action plan (2021-2023) for the innovative development of the Industrial Internet, said Zhang Yunming, vice minister of industry and information technology, adding that MIIT will introduce new guidance and instructions to promote the high-quality development of Industrial Internet. 

Zhang noted that MIIT will stick to strategic guidance and optimize the policy system for the innovative development of Industrial Internet in the new era, remain problem oriented and focus on tackling the challenges that restrict the large-scale promotion of Industrial Internet, accelerate the establishment of a technology system, standard system and production system, and insist on demand-driven actions while speeding up building of an application system covering key enterprises, key industries and key regions.
